Open Settings at the bottom left and choose Export backup to save a JSON file. To move to another browser or recover after reinstalling, choose Import backup, review new and duplicate counts, then confirm. Favorites merge by full URL, keeping existing entries. Select Also restore settings from the backup to restore language, organizing preferences and collapsed groups.
Import validates the format, URLs and settings and previews new and duplicate counts. Existing favorites take priority; repeated imports do not add copies.
Restoring settings is off by default. Failed imports keep existing favorites; no tabs are opened, closed or moved.
v5.5.0
Ungroup and keep every tab
In Tabs, use the Ungroup button beside a site group heading to remove that site's browser grouping. This only removes browser grouping: it does not close, deduplicate, archive or explicitly move tabs. Search still applies to the site's full membership. Organize again to rebuild groups.
The global search now covers open tabs, KoiTab saves and browser bookmarks, keeping the query when you switch workspaces.
A lower-left Settings button opens the language picker upward and leaves room for future settings.
v5.4.0
Flexible grouping, less waiting
After diagnosis, choose Coarse, Medium or Fine on the Organize card. Coarse combines the main site; Medium separates subdomains such as Gmail and other Google apps; Fine also separates Google Docs, Sheets, Slides and Excel, document or PDF files on the same host. Coarse is the default. Your choice is saved automatically and browser groups change when you organize.
Organization now batches tab moves, coalesces browser events and avoids repeated rendering of hidden panels and intermediate states.
v5.3.5
Download from GitHub Releases
The README now links directly to the latest extension ZIP, with packaged downloads and installation instructions on GitHub Releases.
v5.3.4
Discover our other products
Added a header dropdown and mobile navigation section for our four other products, with descriptions and dismissal by clicking outside or pressing Escape.
v5.3.3
ai in ide joins the footer
Added ai in ide to our other products, with descriptions in all five languages.
v5.3.2
A clearer illustrated guide
A shorter README focuses on features, screenshots and installation, with development notes in a separate document.
The guide now includes diagnosis, tabs and collections screenshots in each of the five languages, using isolated sample data.
v5.3.1
Website refinements and open source
Dismiss the language menu by clicking outside, moving focus away or pressing Escape.
Removed red text seals and the footer subscription link; added our other products in all five languages.
The project is open source under the MIT license, with GitHub in the navigation.
v5.3.0
Five languages in the extension
The interface, diagnosis reports, settings, confirmations and feedback now support Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean and Latin.
Follow the browser language or save a manual choice in Settings at the lower left. All translations are bundled for offline use.
The ink-and-paper design accommodates longer text. Switching languages preserves tab titles, saved links and organizing rules.
v5.2.0
Ink, paper and five languages
A new paper, ink and vermilion website inspired by the extension.
Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean and Latin pages, with separate features, guide, download, privacy and FAQ sections.
Localized metadata, language alternatives, structured data, sitemap and RSS feeds.
v5.1.2
The website goes live
Deployed at koitab.com with automatic tests, builds and deployment after GitHub main updates.
v5.1.1
Safer tab and collection handling
Fixed URL comparisons, collection deletion and pre-close archive checks to protect stored data.
Standardized Chrome / Edge 121+ support and added data safety regression tests.
v5.1.0
A website and release feed
Introduced the Next.js website with extension downloads, release notes, RSS and search metadata.
